Dworshak Reservoir Public Use Plan open to public

The Walla Walla District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), has scheduled two Open House public meetings on the update of the public Use Plan for Dworshak Reservoir, located near Ahsahka. The first meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the Riverside Room at the Best Western Lodge at River’s Edge in Orofino.

The second meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Clearwater Room of the Red Lion Inn in Lewiston. The time of each Open House is 5 to 7 p.m., with a presentation at 7 p.m.

The purpose of these meetings is to present the draft Public Use Plan to the pubic and receive feedback on recommendations made in the draft plan. Officials and citizens from around the region are invited to attend the meeting and participate in discussions.

The Open House will include display stations presenting various aspects of the plan. Corps personnel will staff the stations to explain the management changes and answer questions. A formal presentation will be given at 7 p.m., followed by a chance to revisit the displays and ask additional questions.

The public is invited to attend and participate. Comments will be accepted on the proposed changes and improvements to public use, access, and recreation opportunities at Dworshak. Please contact Paul Pence, Dworshak Natural Resources Manager, at 208-476-1258, for any questions regarding this meeting.
