Water and Sewer District water outage Oct. 19
Riverside Water and Sewer District would like to advise residents of
Orofino that those patrons living in the Riverside area between
128th Street and Pink House recreation site will experience a water
outage Monday, Oct. 19, at 8 a.m.

Brigitte
Richardson, local champion, brings home medals
Four people from Idaho, one man and three women, competed in the
National Senior Games. Brigitte Richardson brought home a Bronze
medal for herself and Orofino in the 200 yard breast stroke.

U.S. Census 2010
Christina Veloz, Partnership Specialist from the Seattle Regional
Census Center, addressed the council with the focus of alerting
people that April 1, 2010, is U.S. Census Day.

Flicks’ new owners celebrating first anniversary
Video Flicks, located at 155 Main Street, was purchased by Gordon (a
correctional officer at Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino) and
Jennifer L Benson, one year ago on Oct. 16.

Absentee Ballots available at Orofino City Hall
Applications for absentee ballots, for the general election to fill
seats for three city council positions, are available at Orofino
City Hall, located at 217 1st Street.

Chance Animal, helping neuter/spay pets
Georgia Martinell is the Executive Director of Second Chance Animal,
Inc. (SCA). She, and other animal lovers, helped found the animal
support group, organized about 18 months ago, by holding yard sales.

Inoperative runway lights at Orofino Airport
The City of Orofino would like to inform all airport users who have
lease agreements with the city that our current runway lighting
system is inoperative.

The membership campaign for the Clearwater Community Concert
Association continues as members send in their membership forms and
payments.

Flu season
update from CVHC
The CDC has sent CVHC H1N1 nasal spray vaccine doses for health care
workers under the age of 49. We have been asked to vaccinate our
health care workers so they can remain healthy and provide services
to our patients.

October
enrollment down from last year
October enrollment for the entire Joint School District #171 is up
by six students from September, but 63 less students than October of
2008. The current enrollment is 1,163.

Mobile Food
Pantry in Pierce Oct. 19
The Idaho Food Bank's Mobile Food Pantry will distribute food in
Pierce at the Faith Lutheran Church, 611 South Main parking lot on
the third Monday of each month. The hours are 12 noon to 2 p.m. This
month's distribution day is Oct. 19.

Clearwater County Search and Rescue
Our Search and Rescue Dog Team have been training in and around
water. This training accustoms the dogs to track near ponds, lakes
and rivers and across streams and marshes.
