CLEARWATER TRIBUNE HOME

OCTOBER 15, 2009

Where have all our children gone?

The photo of this week’s Mystery Child was sent in by his older sister in Illinois, with the following clues:

Taking time for a fifth birthday photo wasn’t easy. Tonka built roads waited for their builder to return with matchstick-loaded trucks.

Field and forest waited, too, for their frequent rock-hound. Pebbles (“See the gold?”) would come home today, and perhaps a quail or two.

Time’s taken care of the cowlick and brought silver to his brow. The adventurous spirit of this little guy is found in “Dad” and “Grandpa” now.

This Mystery Child moved to Spokane in 1995, then due to health reasons, moved to Lewiston in 2000. He claims he still comes back to visit Orofino whenever he gets a chance.

Can you guess this week’s Mystery Child?

Last week’s Mystery Children were Joann and Paul Cleveland.

Joann is married to Bob Riche, a logger, and they have two daughters. They now live in Cambridge.

Paul married his young love, June. They lived at Headquarters, where Paul worked for 35 years. They have two sons.

The first person to correctly identify last week’s Mystery Child was Claudia York, followed by Glen Hare and Anita Lear. Paul May, a 1964 graduate of the former Pierce High School, and who now resides in Greenacres, WA, emailed to guess the “Cleveland” kids.
