Clearwater National Forest opens area for firewood gathering
The Clearwater National Forest’s North Fork Ranger District has opened a road for firewood cutting.
According to Timber Staff Officer Rick Kusicko, Hemlock Ridge Road 547R will be open through October 15. He said there are a number of blown down trees in the area that will make good firewood.
Road 547R is located approximately 11.5 airline miles northeast of Pierce. It is near the intersection of Tamarack Ridge Road 5215 and Hemlock Ridge Road 547, and less than one mile north of Sylvan Saddle.
