Karen Olson sends word that the Lewis Clark Early Childhood Program located at Weippe is back as a center experience for children now. She says thanks to the efforts of the Weippe Wesleyan Church and the Lewis Clark Early Childhood program the group is able to offer a place for pre-schoolers to meet and make friends. The center is having school four days a week in the basement of the church.

Shirley Randall sends this note: “I would like to express a hearty happy b-day to Janet Kingen on Oct. 1 and a belated happy 67th b-day to Pete Kingen. Cheers from Montana.”

Rebekah White Pine Lodge has July and August months listed as Vacation, however they were busy this summer in spite of the Vacation.  The group sold haystacks and pies during the rodeo parade, created a float that was in both the 1860 and Weippe Rodeo Parades, and catered a picnic dinner for Empire Mill employees. They will soon be starting pinochle on Sunday afternoons and bingo on Saturday nights.

Maxine Johnstun received news recently of the death of her sister Rosemary MacCorkindale, 92, of Seattle who was struck by an automobile. Services are pending and will be held in Rainier, OR.
