Accident results in DUI

Carol Berkey of Peck was arrested for Driving Under the Influence Tuesday morning, after her car flipped onto its side while she was traveling on Grangemont Road, according to a report issued by the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Tuesday, Sept. 30 at approximately 9:30 a.m. CCSO received a report of a one vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Grangemont and Deer Creek Roads, according the report. Deputies, an ambulance and Rescue 3 responded to the accident.

At the scene they found a vehicle resting on the driver’s side, with the driver, Carol Berkey of Peck, trapped inside. Berkey was removed from the vehicle and sustained no injuries.

According to the report, Berkey claimed that her dog distracted her inside the vehicle and she drove off of the road. She then hit the end of a cement jersey barrier, which caused her vehicle to flip onto the driver’s side and slide across the center line, where it came to rest in the oncoming lane of traffic.

Berkey was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and transported to the Clearwater County jail, according to the report.
