  With talented lumberjacks and jills on hand to thrill the crowd, the 62^nd annual Orofino Lumberjack Days Logging Show was held Sunday in the Orofino City Park logging arena.

  Orofino proudly hosted its 62^nd annual Lumberjack Days Grand Parade with 62 entries, including The Trail, B.C. Bagpipers from Trail, British Columbia, Canada.

• Suicide victim found on Highway 12
  A 47 year-old man, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, was found in his vehicle by Department of Lands employees at the 5 Mile Rest Area along Highway 12 Tuesday morning.
   

• Clearwater Community Concert Association membership campaign
  The Clearwater Community Concert Association (CCCA) membership campaign has begun and will run through Oct. 22.

  The road closure currently under effect on Grangemont has been extended until approximately Friday, Oct. 2.

• Duke Day proclaimed in Weippe
  Duke Day has been proclaimed in Weippe. A gala celebration will commemorate the legacy of Weippe and its founder, Wellington “The Duke” Landon, Thursday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. at the Weippe Cemetery.

  Another Clearwater County Fair has come and gone and as we rub our sleep deprived eyes, the fair board is already making plans for next year.
   

• Fire danger level is at high
  The level of fire danger has moved up to high within the past week, according to a spokesperson for Clearwater - Potlatch Timber Protection Association (C-PTPA).
   

• Deputies rescue three fishermen from Clearwater River
  The Clearwater County Sheriff Deputies responded to a call around 10:38 a. m. Monday that a boat sank in the Clearwater River near Pink House Campground at milepost 37 on Highway 12.
   

• CVHC to offer childbirth class Oct. 3
  On Saturday, Oct. 3, Clearwater Valley Hospital will offer a day long Childbirth Education Class in the clinic reception area, 301 Cedar St.
   

• Happy 70^th Birthday to Chuck Cuddy
  Chuck Cuddy says he’s not retiring, so his family and friends decided to celebrate his 70^th birthday on Saturday, Sept. 26 in celebration of his dedication to his friends and family and to thank him for his years of public service to his community.
   

• Orofino Farmer’s Market continues into October
  The Orofino Farmer’s Market is still going strong and will continue through the month of September and into October.
   

• Clearwater County Extension Office shares survey results
  Sarah Schumaker, with Clearwater County Extension Office, performed a rapid market assessment during the Orofino Farmers' Market on Sept. 8.
   

• Property search on for new water treatment plant
  At the Sept. 22 regular meeting of Orofino City Council, it was noted that the city's water treatment plant continues to be a challenge. It is faulty and no longer adequate to handle the city’s needs.
   

• Orofino Farmers’ Market vendor of the week: Old Bones Enterprises
  Nicki and Mike Lamping of Old Bones Enterprises live in Craigmont and for the past couple of years have invested their green thumbs and hard work in a garden located at the center of Camus prairie, at an elevation of 4000 feet.
   

• Winchester Centennial is Oct. 10
  Winchester’s Centennial (1909-2009) is being celebrated on Oct. 10, 2009. The committee is looking for arts & crafts vendors, yard sale vendors, dessert chefs and talented folks of all ages to perform.

• ITD seeks public comment on transportation improvement program plan
