Riverside Water and Sewer District patrons from 118th Street east to
Transfer Station Road will experience a water outage Wednesday,
Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Fair and Lumberjack Days are here again and so is the Clearwater
Historical Museum’s ice cream social.

Airborne Division (Air Assault) toughest in the world
Cpl. Robert (Rob) A. Shropshire IV, a former Orofino resident and
graduate of OHS, together with Spc. Chris Richard proved to be the
toughest Air Assault Soldiers in the world in what is known as the
“Ironman” race of the Army.

driver’s license office has shortened hours next week
The Clearwater County driver’s license office, located upstairs in
the Clearwater County courthouse, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 21 through Thursday, Sept. 24.

The fire danger is still at the
moderate level, according to Kevin Korbel, Fire Program Planner for Clearwater
- Potlatch Timber Protection Association (C-PTPA).

Court denies
injunction to halt wolf hunt
On Sept. 8 U.S. District Court of Montana judge Donald Molloy agreed
with plaintiffs Defenders of Wildlife that the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service likely violated the Endangered Species Act in
delisting wolves in Idaho and Montana, but denied a preliminary
injunction against Idaho’s wolf hunt. The hunt is part of Idaho’s
management plan for the delisted species.

weekend includes class of ’69 reunion
Along with the County Fair and Lumberjack Days celebration this
weekend, Orofino will also host the 40th reunion of the
Orofino High School Class of 1969.

The Orofino Farmer’s Market is still going strong and will continue
through the month of September and into October.

fall schedule for North Fork and Palouse Ranger District campgrounds
All of the developed campgrounds on the Clearwater National Forest’s
North Fork and Palouse Ranger Districts will be open through the
middle of October.

Kiwanis Lumberjack 2009 Fun Run/Walk a huge success
The Orofino Kiwanis Club sponsored its 4th Annual Fun Run/Walk
Saturday, Sept. 12. The 5K fun run had 114 registered participants
this year, the largest ever.

The Idaho Food Bank “Mobile Food Pantry” will distribute food in
Pierce on Monday, Sept. 21 at the Faith Lutheran Church located at
611 S. Main parking lot on the third Monday of each month between
