shoots one of Idaho’s first wolves in legal hunt
Robert Millage of Kamiah and Jay Mize of Emmett shot the first two
wolves to be legally killed in Idaho on the opening day of the
season, Sept. 1.

marry July 18 in Orofino
Ashley Marie Stanton and Bryan Michael Howland, both of Lewiston,
were married in an early evening outdoor ceremony, overlooking the
Clearwater River Saturday, July 18 at the Best Western Lodge at
River's Edge.

Council
unanimously passes no skateboarding measure
Ordinance 761, disallowing skateboarding in Orofino parks and
closing of parks at 10 p.m. passed unanimously with all council
members present for the vote during the regular meeting Sept. 8.

in a wide range of clothing mark this year’s OCI merchandise
Caren Adams, co-owner of Atkinson Distributing has been designing
and printing up some wonderful new merchandise representing the 2009
Lumberjack Days and Fair.

The Orofino Kiwanis Club is sponsoring its 4th Annual Fun
Run/Walk this Saturday, Sept. 12.

Brazell is new Forest Supervisor for Nez Perce and Clearwater
Forests
Acting Forest Supervisor Ralph Rau announced recently during an All
Employee Videoconference that Rick Brazell has accepted the Forest
Supervisor position for the Nez Perce and Clearwater National
Forests.

The Northfork Church in Ahsahka will be having dedication services
for the new sanctuary Sunday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m.

Sept. 15 for the fair
Orofino Farmer’s Market will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 15 for the
Clearwater County Fair and Lumberjack Days. It will resume again
Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Clearwater Tribune publisher Cloann McNall won the Lewiston
Roundup’s grand prize drawing for an all expense paid trip for two
to the National Final Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas in December.

Junior Miss, Lindsey Staley will represent Orofino at the Idaho
Junior Miss program in Pocatello on Sept. 24-26 at the Stephens
Performing Art Center.

Education course to start Sept. 21
A Hunter Education Course will start Monday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. in
the auditorium of the Orofino Junior High School.

Emergency Services Day in Orofino Sept. 11
On the first
anniversary of the World Trade Center bombing the Clearwater County
Commissioners proclaimed Sept. 11 as Emergency Services Day.
The event for this year will take place Friday, Sept. 11, 4 to 8
p.m. at Orofino City Park.

Sept. 18 for OPD handgun class
Orofino Police Department (OPD) will host a final basic handgun
class for the year on Saturday, Sept. 26. Another class will not be
held until the spring of 2010.

Three citations issued for
illegal burns
Clearwater -
Potlatch Timber Protection Association (C-PTPA) crews were called out to three illegal burns
over the holiday weekend and three citations were issued for burning without
permits.

police seek information on wreck near Myrtle
Steven M. Smith, 36 of Lewiston suffered minor injuries Monday near
Myrtle Beach on Hwy 12 when he swerved the 1993 Civic Honda coupe
he was driving eastbound to avoid a head-on collision with a
westbound blue Dodge pickup.
