Clearwater Region fish stocking schedule

   During the month of September, the following bodies of water will be stocked with rainbow trout, measuring between nine and 11 inches. The number after each italicized area indicates the number of fish stocked.

Sept. 1

-  Robinson Pond -1,050.

Sept. 7

-  Burling Pond – 250.

-  Campbell's Pond - 1,000. Located 25 miles east of Orofino, on the Grangemont Rd. and 1.5 miles west of the junction with Hwy. 11. From Grangemont Rd. look for a Sportsman Access sign. Turn south and travel ½ mile to Campbell's Pond. Family Fishing Waters. In addition to rainbow trout, largemouth bass and sunfish are present.

-  Karolyn's Pond – 525. From Grangeville or Kamiah, travel east on Hwy. 14. Near the Shearer Lumber Mill turn on to the Red River Rd. (222). Travel approximately eight miles to the IDFG facility.

Sept. 13

-  Fenn Pond – 525. Near Fenn Ranger Station on the lower Selway River. Family Fishing Waters.

-  Powell Pond – 525.

Sept. 20

-  Burling Pond – 250.

-  Karolyn's Pond – 525.

-  Spring Valley Reservoir - 7,500. Near Troy. Family Fishing Waters. Good populations of largemouth bass, bluegill, and stocked rainbow trout. Boats are restricted to electric motors only.

-  Winchester Reservoir -12,500. Near Winchester. Family Fishing Waters. It has excellent populations of largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, yellow perch, channel catfish, and stocked rainbow trout. Visitors to Winchester Lake will notice numerous floating structures on the lake. These are part of an experimental project to improve water quality and fishing by oxygenating the deeper portions of the lake. Boats are restricted to electric motors only.

Sept. 27

-  Fenn Pond – 525.

-  Powell Pond – 525.

-  Robinson Pond – 450.

-  Many locations are listed as Family Fishing Waters, which are a few choice spots close to home, geared toward families and the likelihood you'll catch fish. These waters are easy to reach and the rules are simple.

Simple Rules

·   Year-round fishing season

·   Limit of six trout and six bass

·   No limits on other species

·   No limit on length of a fish

·   Buy a fishing license if you are 14 or older.
