Members of the Clearwater Memorial Public Library Friends were
disheartened to learn of the recent break-in and burglary of
equipment at the library and are asking for the public’s help in
solving the crime.

The Peck City Hall August meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19
at 7 p.m. Members of the Big Canyon Rural Fire District will present
a proposal to build a 6000 sq. ft. Fire Station, to be located in

Last week’s lightning storms sent Clearwater-Potlatch Timber
Protection Association (C-PTPA) crews into action this past week, as
they fought 15 lightning holdover fires.

Joint School District No. 171 will be meeting Monday, Aug 17, at 7
p.m. at Orofino Elementary School. The Executive Session will begin

Clearwater Human Needs Council (CHNC) members are encouraged to
participate in the Resource Fair being held in conjunction with the
Kiwanis, Rotary Blood Drive scheduled Tuesday through Thursday, Aug.

Idaho
unemployment jumps to 8.8 percent in July
Idaho’s
seasonally adjusted unemployment rate jumped another four-tenths of
a point to 8.8 percent in July, the highest rate in 26 years as
employers kept a tight rein on payrolls.

On Aug. 5 a Lenore man drove his pickup off an embankment while
putting a CD in his stereo according to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s
Office (CCSO).

covering the Wild Weippe Rodeo for the fourth consecutive year. This
season the cowboys and cowgirls that participate in the rodeo can
