School board meet set for Aug. 16

   Joint School District #171 will announce three resignations and three new hires at their Aug. 16 meet at the Orofino Elementary School. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

   New hires are Donna Curfman as Cavendish school custodian, Shannon Poppe, THS eight grade advisor and Julie Jared as THS Volleyball Assistant Coach.

   Resignations have been submitted by Shannon Poppe as THS seventh grade advisor, Marci Bonner as Orofino Junior High girl’s basketball assistant coach and Jesse Daniels as Orofino High School football assistant coach.

   Action items include:

   Early graduation request, Tory Howard.

   2010-11 bus route changes/non transportation zones, Lon Blades.

   Special education director.

   Judges and clerks for the Sept. 2 election.

   Special meeting date to canvass election results.

   Legal service agreement for 2010-11 school year.

   Year-end board self-evaluation.

   Strategic plan for 2010-11.
