AUGUST 5, 2010

OHS football registration Thursday, Aug. 5

Orofino High School football players and their parents are encouraged to attend an informational meeting Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. in the OHS cafeteria.

Incoming freshman and this year’s juniors will have to have new physicals before they can participate.

Girls high school soccer practice starts Aug. 9

Incoming high school girls in grades 9-12 who would like to try out for soccer should plan to attend the first practice Monday, Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Orofino Elementary School upper field.

New players will need a sports physical and must bring a copy of it to practice. All other players must have handed in the high school paperwork signed by both player and parent before practice begins. All returning players that get paperwork in by Thursday, Aug. 5 will be given new uniforms and a bag.

If you need paperwork call Rossa Lamé at (208) 476-5895 or (208) 827-1265 after 4 p.m. There is a $30 fee to play. Arrangements to pay can be made if needed.

If you would enjoy the challenge of a college level workout, lots of running and being part of a strong competitive athletic team of girls who push themselves hard to excellence each year, this may be the sport for you. New players are welcome, even if you have never before played soccer.

Any questions can be directed to either of the phone numbers above, or if you prefer to speak to one of the players, call one of the captains, Katie Nemeth at 476-5048. Katie would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the game of soccer.

A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the OES field, at the beginning of that evening’s practice. Please bring your parent/guardian for a short information meeting about the season.
