Fun, food and frolic - Pierce 1860 Days has it all Aug. 6-8

Are you ready for great music, lots of food, and a chance to kick up your heels? It will all happen this weekend at Pierce 1860 Days.

The Kick-Off in the Park on Friday brings the fine traditional barbeque presented by the Timberline Lions Club, followed by the Pie and Ice Cream Social served by the New Life Fellowship Youth Group. Molly and Tenbrooks, the rousing bluegrass band from Spokane will be on hand to get everyone's feet a-tapping, at the very least. You won't want to miss this fun group.

Saturday features all kinds of entertainment - a softball tournament, ATV Fun Run, The Legends of the Old West Cowboy Reenactments, the 1860 Days Parade, kids' fishing derby, kids' games and contests, great food and crafts from a variety of vendors, an auction of firewood logs and truckload of gravel, a Dutch Oven Cook-Off, Hell's Canyon Ghost Riders target shooting exhibition - all taking place on or near Main Street.

In the evening, you won't be able to settle down - once again, the Fabulous Kingpins will make Main Street come alive from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.

On Sunday, the morning starts off a bit more calmly. Country church will be held on the lawn behind the Lutheran Church at 10 a.m., conducted by Pastor Hauge and featuring the rare and special music by the Wold Crystal Musical Glasses. This is a once-in-a-lifetime special experience, played by husband and wife team Bruce and Sandy Tweedy (otherwise known as the other half of the Legends of the Old West).

Later on in this relaxing day, take part in the water balloon toss, pie-eating contest, and some fun kids' games. At 2 p.m., you will be treated to the sweet and amazing voice and guitar of Shiloh Sharrard of Troy, as she performs country and western favorites.

Toward winding down for the weekend, there will be drawings for the 1/2 oz Gold Miner Charm, the Char-Broil 5 burner grill, and the 'Crown Royal' denim quilt. Other drawings include the Dell Laptop computer to benefit the new Pavilion, and the Memorial Flag drawing by the Historic Pierce Cemetery Friends.

This is a fun-filled, action-packed weekend you will want to be part of!
