Waterfowl Season Open House slated in Lewiston

   Lewiston - Idaho waterfowl hunters have a chance to comment on proposed 2010-2011 duck and goose seasons during an open house scheduled August 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Clearwater Regional office, 3316 16th Street in Lewiston.

   Season proposals in the Clearwater Region include:        

·   No change in the goose seasons from last year with a 107-day season. The daily bag limit would be four dark geese and ten light geese.

·   For most ducks, the season would also be 107 days, running from early October through mid-January 2011, in northern and eastern Idaho. The daily bag limit would be seven ducks.

·   The youth waterfowl hunt is proposed to run September 25 and 26, for those license youth age 15 and under.

   The open house format allows visitors to attend anytime during the session and visit with Fish and Game personnel about the proposals. Those unable to attend the open house can submit their comments online by visiting the Department’s website: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/public; or by mail to: 2010-11 Waterfowl Seasons, P.O. Box 25, Boise, Idaho 83707. The deadline for comments is August 11. 

   Hunter comments collected from across the state will be summarized and presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission, which will set the final waterfowl seasons August 16.
