CLEARWATER TRIBUNE HOME

JULY 22, 2010

County horse shows planned

County horse shows are a part of the Clearwater County Fair. They are held early due to limited time and space during the fair. The Fair Board hopes you will enjoy both horse shows either as a participant or a spectator.

The 4-H Horse Show will be held Saturday, July 31 in the arena at Orofino City Park.  Orientation will start at 8:30 a.m. and the competition will start, promptly, at 9:30 a.m. Anyone needing more information may call Kathy Deyo at (208) 476-3228.

The Clearwater County Fair Open Class Horse Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 7-8, also in the arena at Orofino City Park. This two-day event is only open to residents of Clearwater County, both children and adults.

Entry forms for the Open Class Horse Show are available at the following locations: Whipple’s Feed, Clearwater Valley Veterinary Clinic, Mary Ann’s Groceries in Weippe, The U of I Extension Office, and Orofino Animal Hospital. For more information please call Tammi Bird at 476-7755.

The combined Clearwater County Fair 4-H and Open Class Dog Show will be held in the City Park Saturday, Aug. 21. For information regarding that event please call Kathy Deyo at 476-3228.

As a reminder, the theme of the 2010 Clearwater County Fair is ‘A Treasure Chest of Our County’s Best.’ Help in some areas is still needed. Another superintendent for 4-H to record food project entries is needed. Help with the Style Revue on Friday evening of the fair is needed and a couple extra workers to ‘fill in’ if someone gets sick or has a family emergency is always needed. If anyone feels they would like to be a part of all the fun, please call Jeanne Hood at 476-3516.
