Win an ATV

The Pierce Weippe Trail Riders club has a raffle for a new Suzuki 250. Tickets are $10 each or three for $20. The drawing will be during 1860 Days and you need not be present to win. Tickets are available at most local businesses.

The club is also sponsoring a Fun Run on Saturday August 7. It will be a 41 mile panoramic ride above Pierce. They have numerous prizes to award. Sign up is 8-10 a.m. at the Lions Club. Riders must be in by 5 p.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 5:30. Concessions will be available. Call Bill or Alison Young at 464-2379 for any questions.

Pierce Birthday Calendar

Maybe you are new to the area or perhaps you've never been contacted about ordering a calendar. If you wish to have a calendar and are interested in sharing your family’s birthdays and anniversaries please contact Catharine Carlson at 464-2737 no later than July 19. Leave a message if no one is home.

Army Black Hawk

Residents in the Orofino/ Pierce area may have noticed an Idaho Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopter flying in their vicinity on Thursday, July 8.  These aircraft, at one time or another, show up in all corners of our state on missions supporting local, state or federal government agencies.

Thursday’s mission was to transport military and state agency representatives to look over facilities that could be used in future, multi-agency State of Idaho initiatives.

1860 Days

Our 2010 1860 T-shirts are here! We have women's tank tops and regular Ts. Nice looking and comfortable for the upcoming festivities...the shirts are on sale now at A Blue Moose. Get yours early!

Have you seen the new street banner? We hope everyone likes it as they roll into town. The schedule of events should be out soon, and the 1860 Days program has gone to print...look for these soon.

A belated thanks to everyone who donated and bought items at our Rummage Sale; this sale helps offset some of the expenses incurred due to our larger celebration this year. We sincerely thank all who contributed in any way.

There is still time to be in the parade. If you need a registration form, please call Judy McCollum at 464-1312.

As we are drawing closer to the big weekend, our meetings will be each week. The next meeting is this Thursday, July 15, at 6 p.m., at Blue Moose. If you wish to be a part of this fun celebration, please attend these meetings. We welcome new energy!
