Harv Nelson will become the new pastor of New Life Fellowship Church in Pierce this Sunday, July 18. The church service begins at 10:30 a.m. with a lunch to follow at the Court Yard Park. Visitors are welcome.

Harv and Colleen Nelson moved to Pierce in 2006, when they purchased The Outback cabin rentals. Harv taught math at Timberline Schools for the past four years and is active in other community organizations, including City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and Clearwater County Ambulance EMT.

Harv was raised in Sandpoint and Monroe, WA. Colleen is the daughter of long ago residents “Sharky” and Earlene Stenzel and a graduate of Timberline High School. Harv and Colleen met and married in Moscow. After they both graduated from the University of Idaho, Harv entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served 24 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

The Nelsons then spent four years at Christ for the Nations, a Bible School in Dallas, Texas. Training involved two years of study after which they both became licensed ministers and then attended an additional year at the School of Missions. The couple has four grown children and nine grandchildren.
