Harv
Nelson to become pastor of Pierce church
Harv Nelson will become the new pastor of
New
Life
Fellowship
Church
in Pierce this Sunday, July 18. The church service begins at
10:30 a.m.
with a lunch to follow at the
Court
Yard
Park.
Visitors are welcome.
Harv and Colleen Nelson moved to Pierce in 2006, when they purchased The
Outback cabin rentals. Harv taught math at Timberline Schools for the past four
years and is active in other community organizations, including City Council,
Chamber of Commerce, and Clearwater County Ambulance
EMT.
Harv was raised in Sandpoint
and
Monroe,
WA.
Colleen is the daughter of long ago residents “Sharky” and Earlene Stenzel and a
graduate of
Timberline
High School.
Harv and Colleen met and married in
Moscow.
After they both graduated from the
University
of
Idaho,
Harv entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served 24 years, retiring as a Lieutenant
Colonel.
The Nelsons then spent four
years at
Christ
for the Nations, a
Bible
School
in
Dallas,
Texas.
Training involved two years of study after which they both became licensed
ministers and then attended an additional year at the
School
of
Missions.
The couple has four grown children and nine grandchildren.
