Clearwater County Sheriff Deputies busy

Grand theft reported 6/28 at Dworshak National Fish Hatchery

   Rick Steeves with Triad Industrial Contractors faxed to the CCSO a list of tools valued at $5000 stolen from their job site. Armstrong Elevator Company of Largo, Florida had been working at the hatchery, as well.

   Mandy Barlow may have more information concerning this investigation. She will be at work beginning Sunday, July 11. She may have, also, information concerning the CCSO assisting both Latah County and Idaho County on possible drowning victims.

Backcountry vehicle, trailer and firewood fire on 6/29

   Betty Jean Stacy of Weippe notified the U.S. Forest Service was that a pickup truck and trailer hauling firewood had caught fire and completely burned. Location reported to be on Musselshell Rd towards Kamiah off Lolo Creek Rd. toward Beaver Dam Saddle. Owners cleaned up debris and removed vehicle and trailer themselves.

A single vehicle non-injury accident near 3269 Grangemont Rd. on 7/2

   Trevor Deyo, 24, of Orofino reported that he was forced off the roadway by an oncoming truck in his lane causing him to drive off the roadway and over a 15 foot embankment, hitting a tree, brush and fencepost. Deputies were unable to locate the truck Deyo referenced.

Motorcycle accident on Dent Rd. near Elk River on 7/3

   Shawn Baune, 18, of Moscow lost control of his Yamaha motorcycle on Dent Road one-half mile out of Elk River. He drove into the soft shoulder of the road, tried to turn out and crossed the road sharply at which time the bike went out from under him.

   Baune was taken by ambulance to Gritman Medical Center in Moscow where he was reported to have suffered a concussion. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing as to the reason for the accident.

ATV accident on Basin Rd. near Elk River on 7/3

   Jason Breedlove, 39, of Lewiston was driving a motorcycle on Basin Road when he collided with Ryan Querciagrossa, 23, of Clarkston who was driving a Suzuki ATV.

   Both subjects were arrested for Driving Under the Influence of an alcoholic beverage and taken to the Clearwater County Jail. Breedlove was cited for Driving Without Privileges, also.

Battery of female on Hwy. 8 near Elk River on 7/3

   Clearwater County Sheriff Inv. Sgt. Mitch Jared has an on-going investigation into the report that a female who was pulled out of a pickup, beaten, thrown into a creek and left by the batterer. Names of the subjects are currently being withheld. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Sgt. Jared at 208-476-4521.
