She says, “Now I can give my husband’s quilt back to him.”
Received another email from Shirley Randall. She says she doesn’t live in a small town anymore but she does remember what it was like and send her observations. “Family & Friends. People always have read the local paper but the town news was really made when those loggers, mill workers and farmers went to town on Saturday night. They cleaned up pretty darn good. The music, laughter and jokes were to be heard all the way up the street and watch out for those Weippe Stompers! A couple fights here and there but no guns or knives, just hands rolled into a fist. The common man still danced the first and last dance with their wives. I remember those people and a lot of them have danced their last dance.
Our condolences to the family of Wesley Sinclair, former Weippe resident. Wesley passed away Friday, July 4. Graveside service will be held Friday, July 11, 1 p.m. at the Weippe Cemetery with a potluck reception following at the Weippe I.O.O.F. Hall.
