Washington Air Tour arrives in Orofino July 14

About 30 antique, classic and experimental airplanes will arrive at the Orofino airport at approximately 12 noon Tuesday, July 14. This will be part of the 2009 Washington Air Tour.

The group will start that morning in Enterprise, OR, having made earlier stops at Hood River and College Place, Washington. The group will remain overnight in Orofino and depart at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15 for Cavanaugh Bay on Priest Lake. The public is invited to come out to the airport at any time during their visit to view the airplanes.

The aim of the Washington Air Tour, organized by the Puget Sound Antique Airplane Club, is to recreate the historic air tours of the 1930’s that sought to bring an appreciation of aviation to communities across the nation.

After remaining overnight at Priest Lake they will head back on Thursday into Washington with stops in Davenport and Prosser to close out their week long adventure.
