man killed on Highway 95
A
Lewiston
man was killed late Tuesday morning when his vehicle collided with a loaded
logging tractor-trailer near milepost 308 on U.S. Highway 95, according to an
Idaho State Police report.
Darrell W. Baker, 87, of
Lewiston
pulled out of the north exit of the Clearwater River Casino at approximately
11:53 a.m.
and turned southbound, heading away from
Lewiston.
His 2005 Suzuki Vitaro was
struck by a northbound 1998 Western semi tractor truck with trailer driven by
Phillip C. Norberg, 19, of Orofino.
Baker was killed in the crash,
and taken to Malcolm’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home in
Lewiston.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Idaho State Police.
Norberg did not sustain injury.
He was wearing his seatbelt.
Sgt. Doty and Trooper Snell of
the Idaho State Police are the investigating officers.
