Old West re-enactment at Pierce 1860 Days
By Kathy Coles
In just a few weeks, during Pierce 1860 Days Aug. 2-3, Pierce will get robbed and shot up by rowdy bad guys.
The Western Heritage Foundation with the Legends of the Old West re-enactment group will be here to entertain and educate at the same time.
These guys and gals put on a real Wild West show, and you might just be a part of it. Bruce Tweedy and Ray Carbo, two of the ringleaders, have been going back in time for over 25 years to give the audience an authentic feel of the Old West. They tell of real local hoodlums of that time, so each performance is a true re-enactment of the event (with a bit of enthusiasm injected). You will not be disappointed!
The Legends of the Old West will be performing both days at various times. Watch for them on Main Street.
We are getting a two-for-one treat with the Legends of the Old West visiting.
Bruce Tweedy and his wife, Sandy are professional crystal glass musicians. In other words, they play the glasses. You may have seen this on TV, but rarely does one get a chance to witness this performance in person. Bruce and Sandy each play their own set of glasses, and accompany each other.
They will be playing at Country Church, held at the Court Yard in Pierce, Sunday, Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m. (Country Church begins at 10 a.m.). Enjoy this wonderful experience Sunday morning in the fresh outdoors.
Watch for the news next week about our band for the street dance—the fabulous Kingpins!
