Vehicle hits telephone pole on Michigan Avenue
On June 26, at approximately
11 p.m.,
Officer Bill Pollick, Orofino Police Department was dispatched to a possible
injury accident in the 500 block of
Michigan Ave.
When Pollick arrived on scene a red Dodge Neon was positioned on the South side
of the road, in the grass area between the road and the sidewalk.
A telephone pole had been struck and was only supported by the wires
attached to the pole.
Clearwater County Deputy
Haworth and Orofino Fire Rescue 3 assisted with traffic control until the
utility company could arrive to remove the downed wires while Pollick conducted
his initial investigation.
Officer Pollick made contact
with the driver of the vehicle; Andreas Bachelez (28) of
Pullman,
Washington
to ascertain if he was injured. Bachelez advised that he did not need an
ambulance. Bachelez advised Officer
Pollick that a cat ran into the road in front of him and he swerved to miss it
causing him to lose control and strike the utility pole.
Bachelez was cited for Idaho
Code 49-1401(1) Reckless Driving.
