Tickets on sale for quilt raffle to benefit injured rodeo contestant

A fundraiser is being held for Chase Haight, Kamiah, who was critically injured in a rodeo accident Friday, June 13, at Pocatello. Haight, a recent Nezperce High School graduate, was injured at the Idaho High School Finals Rodeo when his horse collided with another during the flag procession at the beginning of the rodeo.

Witnesses stated Haight’s horse, along with two others involved in the accident, landed upside down following the collision with Haight at the bottom of the pile-up. He is now listed in stable condition at the Eastern Regional Medical Center, Pocatello. Haight is the son of Cara and Chip Haight, Kamiah.

To help raise funds for medical expenses Lorna Marion, Orofino, and her mother, Janet Nieuwenhoff, Auburn, MA, are donating the quilt for the fundraiser. To purchase tickets call Jody Brown, Clearwater Valley Roundup Association member, at 208-926-4982, or Lorna Marion at 208-827-0677.
