The camas is blooming…perfect
timing for the 10th Weippe Camas Festival this weekend. Weippe will
be bustling with the race, horseshoe tournament, speakers, and presentations.
The Hilltop Players have been rehearsing diligently under the direction of Susie
Larson and will be in top form Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. There will
be luscious samplings of food, including the Rebekahs’ festival pie booth.
Lisa Weyerts, Weippe Fire
Department spokesperson, said the annual Fire Department auction had good
attendance this year and brought in almost double last year’s yield. Lisa said
there was not as much merchandise to auction, but the quality was good and was
reflected in the sale prices. The Fire Department appreciates the donations and
participation by the community.
