Library Mystery
Dinner play nears
In just a couple of weeks an
exciting summer event will take place to raise much-needed funds for one of
Orofino’s treasures, the Clearwater Memorial Public Library.
A small group of avid
supporters, known as the CMPL Friends, have banded together to help maintain and
beautify this wonderful treasure which benefits all members of our community,
from infants to oldsters. The building which houses the library is old and has
undergone many additions and renovations over the last fifty years, but many
needs are coming up to help maintain it as well as modernize the existing
facility.
The Friends decided early
this year to plan a bigger fundraiser than what is brought in with book sales,
so the idea of a mystery dinner theater was brought up by member Cathy Jenni,
who with her husband, Don, have been strong supporters of the library since they
moved back to Orofino from the west coast.
Cathy’s idea was eagerly
adopted, and she, with co-chair Jo Moore began work in March to embark on the
new venture of bringing a mystery dinner theater to the
These really nice prizes can be seen on display at Fiesta en Jalisco
restaurant, and tickets may be purchased by calling Cathy Jenni at 476-5914.
Cathy will be happy to give you more information about each of the prizes, which
will be pictured in next week’s Tribune. This week’s issue features some of the
members of the cast who are all volunteering their time and talent to present a
very entertaining evening for guests on the nights of
Tickets for the play and
dinner are still available for Friday and a few on Sunday evening, for $75 a
couple, or $40 singles. Reservations may be made by calling Cathy Jenni, or Jo
Moore at
A no-host bar will precede
each evening’s entertainment and dinner, held on the outside deck of the High
Country Inn.
Remember, it is a mystery dinner theater, and a lot of surprises are in
store, keeping guests in suspense! We hope a lot of support will be given
by the community, and tables may still be sponsored for $100, which
is tax-deductible, or donations may be made, as well as buying both raffle
tickets and dinner/play tickets.
Several long-term maintenance
and repair projects are hoped to be undertaken with proceeds from fundraisers
such as this one, with support from all users of the library, which does so much
more than just check out books!
