Thanks to all for sharing, caring and participating in the 1^st Annual Boating & Water Safety Fair. We were very happy to be invited to this first fair. This was a great event for the children in our community.

Marine Supervisor Mike Gladhart of the Clearwater County Sheriffs Department worked very hard to put this event together. He also worked to obtain free life jackets for the children. What a great and safe start to our summer fun. There was a personal water craft simulator game, a dive trailer and diving equipment on display, and lots of outdoor activities and games for the kids. There were also prizes and goodie bags for the kids. It is so wonderful to be a part of this community that cares so much.

Again, thank you Mike Gladhart, Jessica Gasaway, and Connie Grant-Howell for helping us set up the day before the event. This event was sponsored and hosted by Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Supervisor Mike Gladhart, Jessica Gasaway, Steve Thornton, and Dan Pollick. USACE Dworshak Dam and Recreation: Deb Norton and Connie Grant-Howell, Clearwater Humane Society, Carol Hengen, Cynthia Hedden, Irene Lamberti, Bryan Weeks, and Will Rambeau. Search and Rescue, Rory Wilson. and Dworshak Fish Hatchery, Megan Wandag, Kiwanis, Stephanie Sweener and Guy Jurgens. The great music was provided by Morgan Sweener, Ashley Windham, and Genna Sylvia.

Thank you Asst. Manager Charlie Chase of the Lodge at Big Eddy for the use of your lodge. Thank you Evelyn Kaide for donating some of the hot dogs & water.

All stray dogs and cats are vaccinated upon arrival for their safety and the safety of the other dogs and cats. They are also neutered and spayed on the sixth (6) day. All costs are the responsibility of the owner claiming the dog. Strays are held for five (5) days and then are for adoption.

***We need large stainless steel bowls for water.*** We also need treats for training. Small milk bones and other tasty treats are great.

**Please donate kitty/cat food.** We have 9 cats/kittens now. Dry kitten food, Purina kitten food is ok. Friskies canned food, ground only, is also greatly needed! Please help us help them.***

We really need canned and dry cat/kitten food and litter right now. We also need small ceramic bowls for the kitten and cat food. We also need covered litter pans.

We need towels to bathe our dogs and cats. Please don’t throw your old towels away—we will put them to good use.

***We need nylabones and tug toys for the dogs/puppies and toys for our cats/kittens right now.***

You can drop all donations of food, toys, blankets, etc. at Orofino Builders Supply. Steve and Leila Crockett continue to be animal lovers and great supporters.

Lost on 5/16/10 from 118^th St. area off highway 12, female black cat, smaller in size. Her name is Jiggs. She is 18 years old and has recently been ill and needs medical attention. If you have seen a smaller black cat in this area please call us: the owner is offering a reward and is very concerned about getting Jiggs back.

Lost on 5/9/10 from Legacy Lane, three miles out of Kendrick heading toward Dworshak. Female dog, ten years old, spayed, wearing a dark brown or black collar with pet ID tag. Her name is Cassie. She is a shepherd/Lab X with floppy ears and is gray with black markings. Please call if you have any information.

Went missing on April 30 in the Canoe Camp area of Hwy. 12. Female, spayed, six year old cat, mostly white coat with black/brown/tan patches. Has blue eyes. Not wearing a collar. If you have seen this cat, please call 476-9823.

If you find a stray dog, please contain the dog or cat, if you feel it is safe to do so, and then call. Many times I get a call from someone that has a stray but by the time I get there the person calling says the dog ran off.

Please contain in a yard or tie the dog until I get there. We want to keep these poor dogs safe and either find their owners or get them a wonderful lifetime home.
