Save the Pool Auction

   The save the Pierce Pool auction is this Saturday. The spaghetti feed starts at noon at the VUG on Main St. in Pierce. The auction will begin at 2 p.m. Come early to eat and view the auction items. A lot of effort has been put in by individuals and local organizations to make this a successful event for the community! All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Pierce Pool.

   50/50 raffle tickets are on sale at S&S Foods, Mop Shoppe and the Pierce Center, so far over $300 worth of tickets has been sold.

Baked Food Sale

   A “benefit baked food sale” will be held in front of the VUG 9 a.m., Monday May 17. The sale is for Dave Vaughn who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is having extensive surgery on May 20. He isn’t expected to be home for about 25 days. Dave and his family are facing a very tough road. Donations and or foods would be greatly appreciated. 1860 Days

   The 1860 Days Committee is hosting a community yard sale! We are inviting everyone to participate in this sale on Saturday, June 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the lot next to Blue Moose (former IOOF Hall). We would like to see this area full of tables, people and goodies and fun for all!

   The 1860 Days committee is accepting any donations for their 'booth', and as you know, all proceeds go toward making our sesquicentennial event August 6, 7, & 8 the best ever. Anyone interested in being a big part of this community yard sale should call Kathy at 464-1083, so you can secure your spot for the day. This is free and open to individuals and groups, and we encourage you all to participate in this! Start cleaning out those closets!

   The next 1860 Days committee meeting is Thursday, May 27, 6 p.m., at A Blue Moose. We are gearing up now, and you will want to be involved in this year's celebration. We always welcome new volunteers.

Pierce/Weippe ATV Club

   The club will be holding a special meeting this Friday at the Lions Club to discuss the upcoming Fun Run to be held June 5. They would like to remind everyone there are tickets on sale for a brand new Suzuki 250 ATV at all local businesses in Pierce and Weippe.

Upcoming Events

   June 12th is the annual fishing tournament sponsored by the Pierce/Weippe Chamber at Deer Creek. This event coincides with free fishing day by Idaho Fish & Game. For information contact Robby at the Timber Inn-464-2736.

   Also on June 12 at 7 p.m. is the annual “80's Theme Party” at the VUG. There will be a $5 cover charge; proceeds will go to help the Pierce Mountain GEM Community team build a new Pavilion at the play park. There will be snacks, games, drink specials and more! Get out your slap bracelets, big hair and aviators and join in for some RETRO fun. Come join us for a totally awesome retro 80's party!
