The business meeting was called to order by Harv Nelson, 7:40 p.m. at the IOOF Hall in Weippe.

Harv and Colleen Nelson, Joe and Charlene Douglas, Bev Bailey, Kim Cox, Greg and Diane Gerot, Kathy Coles, and Rob Harrell were among members present. Visitors included Gerry Burnett, Brandi Crawford, and Clel Fay.

Treasurerís Report

Chamber Treasurer, Bev Bailey, reported $9037.23 in the main checking account.

Clel Fay, Guest Speaker

Clel Fay, a Republican running for District 2 Clearwater Co. Commissioner spoke to us about his background and desires to improve the economic outlook of Clearwater County.

Brandi Crawford, manager of the Pierce Community Center, requested funds from the Chamber to help the Pierce Community Pool. They are having several fund raisers to help the pool financially this summer. The Pool will open June 21 and hopefully be open through Saturday of 1860 Days, Aug 7. Swimming lessons will be offered starting June 21 and after July 4.

Old Business

Commendations to Charlene Douglas and all who helped make the Chamber Banquet and Auction even more successful this year. A couple of outstanding bills are still coming in; however, the net profits were approximately $6500.

Approximately 125 people attended. Many people helped and contributed; hopefully, they saw the thank you notice/ad in the Clearwater Tribune. We will purchase a $5000 CD at White Pine Credit Union so the funds can build some interest.

The Chamber will present a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior. Diane Gerot will present the certificate at the graduation.

New Business

Deer Creek Fishing Tournament will be Saturday, June 12. $300 has been allotted for advertisement. T-shirts will be for sale as well as caps. Harv will speak with the Sheriff concerning their focus that day.

It was decided to give $500 to the Pierce Community Pool and request that one day be designated as a Chamber sponsored day.

As requested, Charlene has written up a Chamber Grant Application to be filled out by persons or organizations requesting funds from the Chamber. The application was approved and will be available to download from the Chamber website. Requests will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.
