Colton tops Maniacs

Colton sophomore Bricyn Abdul pitched his first complete game and earned his first victory as Colton topped Orofino 9-6 in a nonleague tilt May 10.

The game started out ugly, with the teams combining to score 13 runs in the first three innings thanks to a myriad of errors and walks.

But things settled down after that, thanks in large part to Abdul. He gave up seven hits, only two earned runs, and struck out five.

The Maniacs had seven hits, including doubles by Ricky Breeden and Trevor Bansemer.

District II Meet of Champions The District II Meet of Champions was held in Lewiston May 6. Orofino's medal winners were Bo Brooks, 4x100m relay; Katie Nemeth, long jump and triple jump (TJ personal record of 32' 2"); Monique Stamper, pole vault (set OHS record of 10' 2"); Alex Kuykendall, 800m (personal record of 2:03.68); and 4x100m relay team members Kevin Heckathorn, Konor Parker and Eric Fleming. Personal records were also set by Kevin Heckathorn in the 100m sprint at 11.82 and Seb Heibert in the 100m at 11.83. Back to Top
