Community Yard Sale

   Pierce is organizing a community yard sale for May 16 and 17. Your address can be included in the advertising or you may set up a table at the Outback for yourself. Contact Colleen at 464-2171 if you are interested.

Pierce/Weippe Chamber

   The Chamber will meet Wed., May 14 at 7 p.m. at Black Dog Tackle, 2956 Rudo Rd. Directions: turn onto Rudo Rd. at milepost 16 on the Grangemont Road.

90th Birthday Celebration

   Pierce invites you to join Louie Ogden and help celebrate his 90th Birthday at the Timber Inn May 15 from 2-4 p.m. Bring your favorite dish to a potluck, meat will be furnished.

Pierce Cemetery

   New Director Ed Ogden held a public meeting last week to discuss the budget and other issues people were concerned over. The consensus of the people who attended felt like they got the answers they wanted and feel the cemetery is in good hands now. Other Board members are Lee Lougee of Cardiff Spur and newly appointed Mel Karn from Judgetown.

Lion’s Club

   The Club would like to Thank the 41 people who took advantage of the free health screening van that was here on Saturday and S&S Foods for the use of their parking lot.

   Be sure to bring Mom to our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast. We will be serving our traditional breakfast from 7-11 a.m.
The Lion’s Club is once again offering a $300.00 Scholarship to the seniors at Timberline.

1860 Days

   New people, new ideas and best of all new enthusiasm! Join them tonight, Thursday, May 8 at the Lutheran Church at 5:30 p.m. They meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Parade entries and craft and food vendors are being sought. A log bed from Pioneer Log Homes will be raffled is on display at the Hardware Store.

Spring Clean-Up

Your help is needed to beautify Pierce!  Bring your family or organization to the Pierce Court Yard on Main Street to find out how you can help. Jobs needing done are picking up trash, pick up appliances, refinish bleachers, refinish picnic tables, refinish/repair town signage, help unloading at “Y”

   Most waste will be accepted. Tires MUST be taken to the dump without rims, limit 4. Waste not accepted at either place is propane camp stoves, items with asbestos, paint or treated wood.

   A potluck will follow at 11:30 a.m. Everyone welcome. Hotdogs and beverages will be furnished. Sponsored by the Pierce Mountain Gem Team.

   This is a little strange…but someone turned into me an upper retainer found out on Canal. It’s cream colored and has a music note on it.

Open house

   Melissa Skiles has graciously agreed to help Lundyn Jared with her fundraising for the basketball tour to Scandinavia.

   There will be an open house at Melissa’s house at 127 Timberline Drive next week on Tuesday, May 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. for those of you who are interested in ordering Partylite or Salt City candles.
