Lady Maniacs sweep Kamiah
Orofino pitchers
Ashley Schrader and Tabby Haskett held Kamiah
largely in check, as the Maniacs claimed a nonleague sweep April 27.
The Lady Maniacs won 4-1 and 5-3.
Orofino's two pitchers gave up a total of just
nine hits.
The Maniacs also got offensive production from
Paige Walker, who went 3-for-3 with two RBI in the opener, then
added a two-run triple in the first inning of the second game.
Orofino scored two key runs in the fifth inning
of the second game, with one coming home on Megan Gilmer's RBI

Maniacs power to win over
Prairie
The cold weather wasn't
enough to cool off Orofino's bats as the Maniacs powered their
way to a convincing 15-5 non league win over Prairie April 30.
Ethan Gilliam took advantage of the short
right field fence for two home runs and four RBI, part of a
five-homer day for Orofino.
Seth Melton collected eight strikeouts over
five innings, and allowed five runs on five hits.
Jason Thompson, Adam Wilson, and Michael
Welch also went deep for Orofino, while Joe Schumacher hit

![]() Orofino track finishes second, third
Competing April 29, the Orofino girls scored 44
to finish third, while the boys scored 68 to finish second in the
four team meet.
Orofino boys had a number of first place
finishes including Kevin Heckathorn in the 200 in 25.1, and Bo
Brooks, 400 in 54.2.
Alex Kuykendall won two events, the 800
in 2:09.6 and the triple jump with 34-9.
Katie Nemeth won both the long jump and triple
jump with leaps of 14-11 ¾ and 30-4 respectively. Kate Connor won
