Pierce-Weippe Chamber Auction
breaks all
records
The
The Live Auction proved to be
very entertaining as several items were caught in the middle of bidding wars.
The floor show provided by Will Godfrey, our auctioneer from
The dinner, catered by
Rebekah Lodge, was delicious – with some folks even going back for seconds.
People found it hard to choose between the delicious chicken dinner and the
sumptuous prime rib prepared by Greg Gerot of Studio 205 and Rob Harrell of the
Timber Inn (Greg and Rob are known countywide for their ability to cook prime
rib!) Even the Cash Bar saw a decent
amount of activity.
The event brought in a total
of approximately $9300 that the Pierce-Weippe Chamber will use in promoting the
Pierce, Weippe and Orofino Chamber members throughout the year!
Of course, we still need to pay those pesky expenses but the final tally
will be outstanding! This was by
far our best event ever thanks to you –
Second record broken!
Bev and Barry Bailey and
JoAnne and Jerry Bonura and their guests enjoyed being catered to at the Head
Table that they won at last year’s live auction – they were served their dinner,
dessert, wine and beer (the price of which was included with their winning bid),
received special “treats” and were the envy of others in attendance!
Roger and Amy Smith of Whiskey Creek Artisans, Orofino, won the head
table for the 2011 festivities!
Congratulations to them!
The Gun Drawing drew lots of
last minute buyers who just knew that they had purchased the winning ticket.
But, alas, the winning ticket belonged to Jeri and Vernie Sinclair of
Weippe, who are now the proud new owners of a Savage 300 win mag plus scope and
strap purchased from Olive’s Auto Parts in Orofino.
Way to go, Jeri and Vernie, and congratulations!
Other big winners of the
evening were State Senator Lee Heinrich who won our first ever Alcohol Drawing
and our Door Prize winner, Teri Larson.
And since it is an election
year, we had some very generous political candidates and public officials in
attendance: Don Ebert, John Allen,
Carole Galloway, Stan Leach, Lee Heinrich, and Sheryl Nuxoll. The Mayor of
Weippe, Norm Steadman, and the Mayor of Pierce, Greg Gerot, were there to
support the event and the communities as well.
Attendees found Mayor Steadman setting up for the event (as well as
tearing down afterwards), and Mayor Gerot serving prime rib along with Robbie
Harrell of the Timber Inn.
This event wouldn’t have been
possible without the support of the businesses throughout the area that donated
numerous auction, bucket raffle items, and cash donations.
The outpouring of generosity was tremendous this year with the largest
number of donations ever – Third record
broken! Thank you all so very
much!
Thank you also to everyone
that helped with this event and who ate, played, and bid throughout the evening.
It is a tribute to this area that this event is supported by so many. It
will be even bigger and better next year so mark it on your calendar to attend.
The towns of Pierce, Weippe and Orofino may not be as large as others but the
outpouring of generosity and support are just amazing and so very much
appreciated!

Tournament to be held on the
