Four arrested in drug search

   Four persons were arrested Wednesday as a result of a search warrant served at a College Avenue residence in Orofino. Three children, ages 3, 5 and 3 were taken into protective custody by the Department of Health and Welfare, according to a news release issued by the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.

   March 23 at 1 p.m. Clearwater County Sheriff’s deputies and Orofino police officers served a search warrant for illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia at 411½ College Avenue, according to the news release.

   Three persons were arrested at the residence. They are Roger N. Chriswell, 32, Amy M. Steele, 24 and Shawna R. Kestner, 18. Carl S. Cash, Jr., 24, another resident of the house, was arrested at his place of work in Orofino.

   Chriswell was arrested on a felony warrant and will face several felony drug charges, including delivery of marijuana, conspiracy, and delivery in the presence of children, according to the news release.

   Chriswell has a prior felony conviction related to drug use. According to the Idaho Department of Corrections, Chriswell completed his most recent sentence in March of 2006. As a result, he faces sentence enhancements due to his prior delivery conviction and as a habitual felon, according to the news release.

   Steele was arrested on a felony warrant for conspiracy to deliver marijuana. She and Kestner also face charges of frequenting a place where controlled substances are known to be located, according to the news release.

   Cash was arrested on a felony warrant for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, and delivery of a controlled substance in the presence of a child, according to the news release.

   Two people also under investigation in relation to this incident have not yet been located.
