Budget line items in Road and Bridge increased by a total of $86,351.61

A public hearing was held with Clerk Carrie Bird to open the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year Budgets for expenditure of unanticipated revenue. The money came from the State of Idaho to help defray the cost of Emergency Snow Removal during the Disaster Declaration that occurred from Jan. 25 through Feb. 29, 2008. The Budget line items in Road and Bridge were increased by a total of $86,351.61.

The Board approved a motion to adopt Resolution # 08-04-06 for unanticipated revenue.
Wendell Stark and Gary Carlin, Trails Committee Advisory members, presented new information on the RS 2477 legislation. The State of Utah approved HDR 5, and concurrent resolution that endorses a legislative solution to the ongoing RS 2477 problem. The bill codifies the 10th Circuit Court decision that provides a thoughtful and reasonable way to resolve road disputes between the federal government and counties. HR 308 has not cleared Congress at this date. A resolution draft in support of the legislation is under review.
Sheriff Alan Hengen and Deputy Rick Miller presented review of the department happenings. Sheriff Hengen and Sergeant Miller are teaching a three day Search and Rescue training session next week. The department is also providing training in boating safety and ATV safety.
Rob Simon from the Road and Bridge Department came in to give an update. The Tie Creek Subdivision road was reviewed to make a determination of whether it has been constructed to county road standards. The Board has taken the information under advisement.
The Master Transportation Plan over view was discussed. A final has not been given to the County. There are components that need to be finished before the Commissioners can adopt the final through resolution.
There were three executive sessions held to discuss personnel and indigent matters.
