‘It’s NOT Ok’ message goes mobile
“It’s NOT Ok” for adults to supply alcohol to those who are underage and
Simmons-NADL Sanitation is helping Clearwater Substance Abuse Workgroup (CSAW)
spread that message in Orofino and Weippe with magnetic signs on the sides of
their trucks.
The magnetic signs were made by Architectural Signs and Engraving (ASE) in Orofino. Trucks with the signs pick up garbage in the commercial and residential areas of Orofino and Weippe.
The “It’s NOT Ok” design is similar to a billboard on U.S. Highway 12 in Orofino, print ads being run in local publications and on CSAW’s web site (www.clearwaterprevention.org). The efforts are part of an expanded media campaign to help both youth and adults better understand that alcohol use needs to wait until the appropriate age.
“Recent brain research illustrates the damage that can result from alcohol consumption on the brain development of children and adolescents,” said Cindy Chaney, CSAW coordinator. “We are fostering a new community attitude that ‘It’s NOT Ok’ for those who are underage to have alcohol. Whether we’re actively parenting now or have grown children or no children, it is important to develop a community attitude that does not condone underage alcohol.”
Pictured: Whether to the young or adults the message going out from Clearwater Substance Abuse Workgroup (CSAW) is that “It’s NOT Ok” for those who are underage to drink and it is not okay for adults to supply alcohol to those who are underage. The message is now mobile in magnetic signs on the side of Simmons Nadl Sanitation trucks that work in Orofino and Weippe.
