Idaho Public Television, in
conjunction with the Idaho Press Club and the League of Women Voters, continues
the more than 30-year tradition of broadcasting statewide political debates
beginning with candidates for the Idaho Supreme Court Tuesday, May 4, at 8/7
p.m. MT/PT.
The debates will be carried
on IdahoPTV and held in front of a live audience in the Senate Auditorium, West
Wing Room 2 (WW02) of the Statehouse.
“The Idaho Debates are the
only live televised statewide events that will be broadcast during the primary
season. In many instances, these debates serve as the only way Idahoans from all
corners of the state can hear from the candidates vying to represent them,” says
producer and moderator Thanh Tan. “Each of these debates is significant, but
perhaps none more so than the one between Supreme Court Justice Roger Burdick
and his challenger, John Bradbury. The November election will not be a factor in
this race. The May primary will determine who will serve on
The 130 seats in the Senate
Auditorium will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will
open May 4 at
