Orofino Farmers Market organizational meeting
May 12
Spring is here; the growing
season is upon us.
Idaho
farmers’ markets will soon be offering fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables,
herbs, honey, farm fresh eggs, and fresh cut flowers to consumers.
Farmers’ markets are rapidly
gaining popularity across
Idaho
as consumer interest in organically grown and locally grown produce continues to
rise. Consumers want to know the conditions under which their produce is grown.
Farmers’ markets provide an excellent opportunity for the buyer and the producer
to meet, exchange information, and in many instances, establish a relationship.
The Orofino Farmers Market
will hold an organizational meeting on May 12, at
5:30 p.m.
at the Extension Office to kick off the market and the 2010 season. If you would
like to be a part of the Orofino Farmers Market or have questions, please
contact Sarah Schumaker at UI Extension 208-476-4434.
