Benefit/Jam Session
A Benefit auction and jam session for Jack Smith will be held at the Weippe Community Hall April 26. Potluck will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Auctioneer Leroy Kuykendall will start the bidding at 1 p.m. Many items large and small have been generously donated for this auction including a river excursion trip, and antler chandelier.
Following the auction there will be a jam session with many of the people Jack has played music with over the years. The Graham Brothers will also be playing. ALL MUSICIANS WELCOME! Throughout the day there will be a cakewalk and 50/50 drawing and different challenging games.

Raffle tickets are available in Pierce and Weippe for 1/2 beef cut and
wrapped, 20 gauge shotgun and a handmade quilt. There is also an account set up
at White Pine Credit Union.
1860 Days
Regular meeting of the 1860 Days committee is tonight at 6:30 at the Lutheran church. New people have joined and are bringing enthusiasm to the celebration. Everyone who is involved or wants to be should be there.
Free Health Screening Van
The Lion’s Club is pleased to announce their free health screening van will be here again this year during White Cane Days. The Lions Health Screening Unit will provide screening to the public in the following areas: Diabetes, Glaucoma, Blood Pressure, Hearing and Vision. This free screening will take place in Pierce at S&S Foods on Saturday, May 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Spring Clean-Up
This years annual clean up
day is May 10 from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The community potluck starts at 11:30 a.m.
at the Court Yard Park. Free hotdogs and beverages!
Your help is needed to beautify Pierce. All organizations and residents
are encouraged to come out and help. Volunteers are needed to pick up trash,
pick up appliances, refinish bleachers, refinish picnic tables, refinish/repair
town signage, put out planters, help unload at "Y" and to hang new banners.

Mother’s Day Breakfast
Annual Mother’s Day
Breakfast will be provided by the Lion’s Club. They will be serving their
traditional breakfast of your choice of bacon or sausage, two eggs, hash browns,
toast, coffee and juice for just $6. Hours are 7 a.m.-11a.m.
The Lions Club had their election of officers; President-Leslie Potratz, Vice
President-Kaye Fisher, Treasurer-Jennifer Billups and Secretary-LynnAnn Bullene.
The hours for Pioneer Medical Clinic next week are: April 28, 29 and 30 with
John Beeh, PA. Clinic hours are

No Pool
Due to lack of lifeguards, the Pierce Pool will not open for the 2008 season. However, the Pierce Recreation District is going to provide funding to pay for a bus to drive students to swimming lessons in Kamiah, and a monthly trip to a water park in the area. As the swimming lessons are first-come, first-serve, please contact the Pierce Community Center to sign-up. Details will be provided once they are finalized.

his 70th birthday at the Faith Lutheran church in Pierce on Sunday,
April 27 at 11:15. Ken, a long time teacher in Pierce, lives in headquarters.
