Pierce-Weippe Chamber Auction a huge success
The Weippe
Community Center
was quite crowded Saturday, April 19, as 70 people were busy playing Blackjack
and Plinko with their funny money, dropping tickets into the Bucket Raffles, and
trying to outbid their best friends for the Silent Auction items.
The Live Auction proved to be very entertaining as several items were caught in the middle of bidding wars. The dinner, catered by The Timberline Café, was enjoyed by all – some even going back for seconds and thirds. Even the Cash Bar saw a decent amount of activity.
The event left the Pierce-Weippe Chamber with almost $4000 to use in promoting the Pierce-Weippe and Orofino Chamber members throughout the year!
The Chamber Member of the Year Award was presented to Robbie Harrell, owner and
proprietor of The Timber Inn in Pierce for his tireless work in promoting the
area. And, to everyone’s surprise, the Weatherby Rifle with Leopold Scope was
won by none other than Norm Steadman, Mayor of Weippe.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the businesses throughout the area that donated numerous auction, bucket raffle items, and cash donations. They are all very much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone that helped with this event and who ate, played, and bid throughout the evening. It is a tribute to this area that this event was supported by so many. It will be even bigger and better next year so mark it on your calendar to attend.
Don’t forget our Fishing Tournament to be held on the Idaho free fishing day, June 7 at the Deer Creek Reservoir and our Wine Tasting Party, July 19. Watch for details in the coming months!
