OCI Royalty contest is May 3

   Six girls will participate in the 2008 Clearwater County Fair and Lumberjack Days Royalty contest Saturday, May 3 at the Orofino High School gymnasium.

   Candidates are Kalli Pattan, Savanah Morales, Kelsey Denece Pederson, Amy Krupa, Jessie Jasper and Krystal Sherrill.

   This year’s theme is Capture the Memories. A queen and two princesses will be chosen.

   The contest gets underway at 6 p. m. that day with the Candidate Revue where the candidates will model their non-formal attire and answer a non-rehearsed question drawn at random. The talent presentation will take place following the revue where each candidate will give a presentation not to exceed five minutes.

   After the talent presentations the Formal/Poise segment will take place where the candidates will be showcased in formal attire and give a brief speech on a pre-chosen topic.

   All six candidates are in the 11th grade at Orofino High School.

   The Coronation of the 2008 queen and two princesses by the 2007 Royalty Queen Angelina Rivera and Princess Kacie Presnell will wrap up the evening.

   Admission is $3 each and tickets may be purchased from any candidate or at the door.

  Kalli Pattan, 17, is the daughter of Brad and Michelle Pattan. Her talent presentation will be “What it’s like to be a girl/tomboy.”

   Her hobbies are hunting, fishing, camping, basketball, four-wheeling, watching basketball and spending time with family and friends.

   Savanah Morales is the 17-year-old daughter of Marcos Morales and Amelia Samuels. She will sing for her talent presentation.

   CSAW, leadership class, dance team and coaching the Mini Maniac dance team are her hobbies.

   Kelsey Denece Pederson, 17, is the daughter of Galen and Mary Kuykendall and Russ Pederson. For her talent she will tap dance to Footloose by Kenny Loggins.

   Her hobbies are cheerleading, spending time with family and friends, being outside during summer, reading, boating, snowmobiling and being an O-Stars cheer coach.

   Amy Krupa, 17, is the daughter of Gayle Krupa and Dave Krupa. Her talent will be A monologue entitled “Parts”.

   She enjoys watching sports, spending time with family and friends, playing tennis and working at Just Brew it Espresso.

   Jessie Jasper, 17, is the daughter of Doris Jasper and Tom Jasper. For her talent presentation she will do a dance.

   Her hobbies are softball, soccer, dancing, basketball, horseback riding, cooking, 4-H horses and hanging out with friends.

   Krystal Sherrill, 17 is the daughter of Kelly Kircher. For her talent she will present a skit.

   Her hobbies are softball, volley ball, being with family, hanging out with friends, hunting, fishing and camping.
