OCI Royalty competition is Saturday
Four high school juniors will compete for the title of queen at the OCI Royalty contest Saturday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at Orofino High School. The remaining three contestants will all be named princesses.
This year’s candidates are Robyn Britton, Jerica Macie Gearhart, Megan Gering and Katherine Uhling.
Robyn Britton, 16, is the daughter of Susan Golia. Her hobbies include volleyball, embroidery, reading, swimming, and volunteering as peer teacher for the LEAP program. Her talent will be a humorous monologue. “Life’s what you make it, so let’s make it rock,” is Robyn’s favorite motto.
Jerica Macie Gearhart, 16, enjoys cheerleading and riding her horse. She is the daughter of Misty R. and Brian J. Gearhart, and for her talent she will dance. “Life is the art of drawing without an eraser,” is Jerica’s favorite motto.
Megan Gering is the 16-year-old daughter of Jeremy and Christy Gering. For her talent, Megan will sing “That’s What Faith Can Do” by Kutless, accompanied by a slideshow presentation titled “Mission of Mercy!”
Megan’s hobbies include HOSA club, missions trips to Ecuador, Orofino Community Church youth group, Maniac Pride, National Honor Society, volleyball, Youth Legislature, anything outdoors, 4-H livestock, boating on the lake, spending time with friends, hunting with her father and brothers, babysitting, and being with family. Her favorite motto is, “If you judge people, you have not time to love them.”
Katherine Uhling, 16, will tap dance to Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” for her talent presentation, The daughter of Michael and Casey Meza and Jeff and Koleen Uhling, Katherine enjoys volleyball, golf, dance, boating, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Her favorite motto is, “Happiness is a journey, not a destination, so love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like no one’s watching, and live like it’s heaven on earth.”
