   Orofino High School girl’s softball team members are Taylor Crawford, Jessica Lott, Brittany Tanksley, Kacie Presnell, Kayliah Knapp, Jackie Wessels, Sabrina Martinez, Alyssa Schrader, Brenna Smith, Hailey Brown, Jessica Roby, Tawnya Brink, Kelsey Stemrich, Stephanie Montgomery, Keela Sykes, Sonya Pardue, Whytnee Hatfield, Savannah Crawford, and Capri Savage.

   Timberline Judo Club members are Josh Eastman, Kaden Jared, Tanner Jared, Hilaree  Vanderpas, Lucas Maki, Dustin Hodges, Kendrick Jared, and Kayla Hodges.

   Jo Moore, Ahsahka resident, business owner and retired educator will represent Clearwater County on the statewide Republican Education Task Force.

   Amberle Montgomery of the Eastside Wrestling Club, Maple Valley, WA captured the AAU Female Triple Crown by winning the AAU Freestyle National Championship. Amberle is the daughter of Brad and Jacklyn Cuddy Montgomery and granddaughter of Chuck and Judy Cuddy.

   Avid golfer Martin Stout scored a hole-in-one on the number three green using a seven iron on the 140 yard shot.

   Lori Morris, Pierce, is among 20 outstanding Idaho high school seniors chosen to receive a State of Idaho scholarship. Lori, a student at Timberline High School, plans to major in nursing. She is the daughter of Vernon Morris of Pierce.

   Paul Pippenger, operator of Glenwood IGA, is among a group of food retailers who have been honored by “Progressive Grocer Magazine.”

   Hopes and dreams of athletic officials at Orofino High School will become a reality in a couple of years thanks to the concern and effort of numerous organizations and individuals interested in our youth. The North Zone Engineers put together a plat and donated it to the school.

   Mike Walrath is captain of traffic control for Orofino Elementary and is assisted by Briana Wargi and Chuck Brumley.

   Unemployment certification topped the 1,000 mark this week at the Orofino unemployment office, with the total about 20 percent more than the 850 peak of 1979.

   Dollon Schneider won first place and $1,000 in the truck driving contest at the Idaho State Loggers Fair Coeur d’Alene last week. Alan Deyo was third in the same contest and won $250. Both work for D&D Logging.

   Peck city donated property has been given the school and community for an outdoor Conservation Libratory.

   Eighty thousand steelhead smolt were released into the river this week as part of the first production of the new Dworshak Hatchery.

   Michael and Carol (Wunderlich) Dugger are the parents of twins born April 11 at Gritman Hospital in Moscow. The boy’s name is Jeffery Michael and the girl’s name is Jennifer Carol.

   John Bradbury, who returned last fall from Korea, has passed the Idaho Bar Examination after previously graduating from the University of Michigan law school.
