Supplemental levy set for vote
The levy is set at $1.74 million, an increase of $250,000 over last year.
Revenue for the district will fall approximately $786,000 in the coming year. The shortfall comes as a result of loss of funding due to lower enrollment and cuts made by the 2009 state legislature.
In addition to existing cuts, the state is recommending that all districts make plans for an expected holdback of 3.5 – 5.5% for next year.
This could amount to an additional loss of approximately $300,000 for District 171.
