Lewis County edges Timberline

   Damon Leitch went 3-for-4 at the plate and started a four-run seventh inning with a single to help Lewis County rally past Timberline in Whitepine League action April 8. The Indians defeated the Spartans 10-9.

   Lewis Co. trailed 9-6 after the Spartans scored twice in the top of the seventh, but they cobbled together three hits and were aided by a Timberline error in the bottom of the inning. Kris Long smacked the game-winning two-run double with two outs to end the game.

Genesee sweeps Lady Spartans in doubleheader

   Michelle Brown legged out two inside-the-park home runs and Amy Quint racked up four RBI in the second game to spark Genesee's doubleheader sweep of Timberline in Whitepine League action April 8.

   The Bulldogs won 24-8 and 17-6 at Lewiston's Airport Park.

   In the opener, Genesee (6-3, 4-0) rolled up 12 runs with two outs in the third inning. Brown added a solo homer in the fourth, then led off the second game with another shot.
