This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, driven by Jeremiah E. Bowen of Orofino, rolled at the bottom of Wells Bench Road and landed on Riverside Avenue.

Vehicle rolls on Wells Bench Road

   An 18-year-old Orofino resident and two juvenile passengers were involved in a single-vehicle rollover at the bottom of Wells Bench Road April 8 at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to a news release issued by Orofino Police Department (OPD).

   Orofino police officer Bill Pollick, Clearwater County Ambulance and Rescue 3 were dispatched last Thursday evening to a one-vehicle accident in which the vehicle reportedly rolled from the bottom of Wells Bench Road and landed on Riverside Avenue.

   When Pollick arrived on scene he observed a vehicle on its top on Riverside Avenue, facing north, according to OPD.

   The driver, Jeremiah E. Bowen, 18, of Orofino, was driving a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle and had started up Wells Bench Road when he hit gravel and lost control of the vehicle, according to OPD. Two female juveniles were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. 

   Everyone in the vehicle was wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported.

   Bowen was cited for failure to drive at a reasonable and prudent speed for conditions, pursuant to section 49-654(1) I.C.
