1990 20 year reunion in July
All classmates and friends of the Orofino High School class of 1990
are encouraged to save the date to celebrate their 20 year reunion
Friday through Sunday, July 16-18.

Royalty contestants to compete for queen April 24
Four high school juniors will compete for the title of queen at the
OCI Royalty contest Saturday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at Orofino High
School. The remaining three contestants will all be named
princesses.

Council: Daycare ordinance under scrutiny
Two special use applications were submitted for currently existing
daycare centers. One application was from Jennifer Dunaway of H
Street. The second application was submitted by Lyle and Suzanne
Finney of Indio Avenue.

Wine Tasting features sapphires and chocolates
The CVHC 36th Annual Wine Tasting on Friday, April 30
will feature a special Chocolate and Sapphires Raffle.

Vehicle
rolls on Wells Bench Road
An 18-year-old Orofino resident and two juvenile passengers were
involved in a single-vehicle rollover at the bottom of Wells Bench
Road April 8 at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to a news release
issued by Orofino Police Department (OPD).

County Democrats to meet April 22
The Clearwater County Democratic Central Committee will hold a
Caucus for all Democrats on Thursday, April 22 at McLaughlin Shop at
6 p.m. to elect two delegates to the Idaho State Democratic
Convention on June 11-13 at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort.

The Orofino High School Baseball team will be recognizing their
graduating seniors on Friday, April 16 when the Maniacs play
Grangeville.

Community Choir performances May 1-2
The Orofino Community Choir performances will be held a week earlier
than usual, on Saturday, May 1, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday May 2, 2:30
p.m. A variety of music will be offered.

Alcohol,
drugs, and the teen brain forum April 22
The Clearwater Substance Abuse Workgroup and Clearwater Valley
Hospital and Clinics are partnering on a forum about the
physiological affects of alcohol, street drugs and non prescribed
medications on the development of the teen brain.

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring a Taco Salad luncheon on
Friday, April 30 at the VFW from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with delivery
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

officially began meeting in Orofino on Oct. 19, 1958. In those days,
membership was not big enough to be considered a ward (which is what
a local church congregation is called).

Patrick and Marcie Eades and Gwen Gasaway bought the winning raffle

The Kamiah Mill will be dismantled and sold piecemeal after the
asking price of $1.5 million was unmet at an auction held last week
in Kamiah by Inverness Group, Inc., of Portland, OR.

and Water Safety Summit held March 29, in Daytona Beach, FL.

Paul Emerson is
retiring in May after 28 years as the Managing Editor of the
Lewiston Tribune (LT). He was the keynote speaker at the April 7
Orofino Chamber of Commerce luncheon and outlined some of his
background and his hopes for the future of printed news.
