CVHC Wine Tasting scheduled for April 25
The annual Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics Wine Tasting It will be held in the Little Flower Room at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are available for $15 at the door.
This year’s event celebrates the support the community and area residents have provided to CVHC. The Vineyards: 34 Years of Community Support reflects that appreciation. The Little Flower Room will feature photos from wine tastings in the recent past to celebrate that support. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser provide scholarships for pediatric patients to attend a summer camp for kids with diabetes.
Two or three of the campers will be helping out with the decorating and food preparation this year. One of the Orofino campers, Mariah Cunningham, just spent last week hosting a friend from Meridian who she met and befriended at Camp Hodia.
Barney’s Harvest Foods is donating their services and will assist in the purchasing process. The wines will once again be provided by Odom Distributors. Bill DuChemin and David Goodpasture, from Odom, select the evening’s choices. As in years past, they will instruct the volunteer pourers and explain the wines to the guests.
“This year we’ll be featuring six reds and six whites,” said DuChemin. “We have two new wines produced by Columbia Vineyards which have really previewed well at various wine tastings. The Vineyard #10 Red was recently selected by Roosters Restaurant in Clarkston as one of their featured wines. There will be a wide variety to suit every taste, including two non alcoholic wines.”
Country Catering will be providing the hors d’oeuvres which will include mini open face Reuben sandwiches, a cucumber slice with dilled salmon, Gruyere cheese puffs and a variety of cheeses and desserts.
Six baskets for the Silent Auction will also be featured including a women’s basket, a gentleman’s basket, A ‘Day on the Lake’ basket, a Christmas basket, a wine basket, and a Wine Stone donated by the Burnham families. Bidding on the auction items will end at 8:30 p.m.
The annual event is sponsored by the CVHC Auxiliary and Foundation.
