2008 Camas Festival t-shirts unveiled

   The '08 edition of the Weippe Camas Festival t-shirts were unveiled this week and are currently on sale.

   This year's shirts, designed by the Camas Festival shirt committee, are sea green and sport a logo of the Nez Perce Indians meeting members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition amid a sea of camas. The shirts are a cotton/polyester blend and are available in sizes from small to XXL.

   The "C" shirts are available for purchase for $12 each. “C” shirts may be purchased at Cyndy’s 1st Stop Java in Weippe. and at the new site of Creative Gifts in Weippe, now relocated to 4118 3-Mile Road, Weippe. Bev Bailey, shirt chairperson, said only 150 shirts are available. They may be reserved by phoning her at 435-4189 or by email at cg@cpcinternet.com. Any shirts remaining will be available for sale during the festival May 23, 24 and 25 in Weippe.

   Included with the purchase of each "C" shirt is a raffle ticket on a chance for three $50 prizes that will be awarded Saturday afternoon of the festival.

   Marge Kuchynka, festival chairperson, said the unveiling of the "C" shirts and their sale represents the kickoff "save the date" event for the festival, now in its eighth year. Theme of this year's festival is Tales, Trails and Trading.
